Welcome NapaFlyBoy. Welcome abpard. I have a few questions about gliders.
First how do you get them up there. I know that whenn you come across some warm air they can stay there for ever.
Also can you make them FPV?
Again Welcome. Retired also. Rairai

;)Safety First Always. Keep them up!!

Hey guys!
My name is Thomas. I am new to the area and have primarily flying at Baylands. I moved here from Boulder CO for work. I fly an FPV equipped Radian Glider with GPS and Vario, a FPV VAS Banshee twin-boom pusher, and also have 73mm micro quad. I have a powered glider FPV. Its amazing with a variometer so you can sense the air well. with the right thermals you can stay up for hours.

This is for Rairai.
This probably isn't the best Topic to be asking questions under but...
+ Gliders are normally hand-launched for "slope soaring", while "thermal soarers" are normally launched using a "high start" (like a big slingshot) or a motorized winch.
+ They stay up,there by flying in rising air.
+ Gliders can use FPV, but I'm not into that myself.
I suggest you browse the other Forum Topics where you can get more answers to your questions. Fly safe and have fun.

1.See "napaflyboy" answer. Also, a glider can have an electric motor w/ propeller. (Excellent for flat land soaring)
2. Adding FPV is done all the time. (Especially with electric gliders) Note: Learn to fly before getting into FPV.

Good luck,
