Hi Fellow RC Builders

Building my first quad - this is a simple question I'm sure, but wanted to make sure I did't mess up.

Where/How do I connect the following to my PDB?

1. Battery
2. PXFmini/RPi Uno stack (Erle Robotics)
3. GPS/Compass (Erle Robotics)
4. Specktrum receiver
5. 4 LEDs (how do I "split" power for multiple LED strips?)

Also, how to connect the flight computer stack if frame holes are not available? (attachment)

THANKS

Jack

All the positive pads are directly connected to eachother, and the positive pads are also all connected together. If all you are doing is distributing power, it won't matter which pads the battery connects to as long as you keep it positive-to-positive and neg-to-neg. Don't hook up the battery to the things labeled as "5v" or similar.

Most of the electronics you mentioned will run on 5 volts. As such you can either run them over the 5v output of the ESCs, just don't connect up more than 1 esc to the same circuit.

Most LED strips can be connected in parallel and in series.

Thanks for your help. Exactly how is the Spektrum AR601 receiver connected with the Erle FC?

I don't think any cable or instructions came with it.

You should be able to use 6 short servo cables. channel 1 to 1, 2 to 2, etc.

Thanks for the response, but I don't think it's possible. After four ESC connections are made, there aren't enough pins for the receiver. So I'm thinking a PPM-Sum device must be added. Again a lot for a first time builder.

You may not be able to use that receiver according to this post:

But yes, you are correct - you should be using a ppm of some sort for that controller.
